Grief is not something we "get over", however in time our life can grow around grief.

Dr Lois Tonkin's concept " Growing Around Grief" provides a new way to understand grief in her model that can provide hope for people who are grieving.

Dr Tonkin reminds us that in time we will encounter new people and have new experiences, which contribute to the tapestry of our lives. This growing tapestry can helps us to cope with the pain of grief and to adapt in life.

There may be times when you will be reminded of your grief, and it may feel overwhelming at the time, this 'tapestry' you have woven will still be there and will continue to grow.
